How do I get my license?

Follow the steps below to complete your online application.

Please Note: All licensing processes must be completed online with only a few exceptions

    Tip: Have your bond information (PDF, 18KB) ready. You'll need to attach it electronically or mail it in.

Surplus line broker

Surplus line policy data must be submitted to the Surplus Line Association of Washington on a monthly basis.

    Remember: If you want to place admitted business you must hold a property and casualty producer license, which you may apply for at the same time you apply for a surplus line broker license.

Life settlement broker

Title agent

Please note: a non-resident title agent must be licensed in its home state and maintain an established place of business there. It must own or lease and maintain a title plant for each and every county in Washington state in which it will be issuing policies.

Individual licenses for the employees of a licensed title agent are not required. See RCW 48.29.170.
