How do I get my license?

Follow the steps below to complete your online application.

Please Note: All licensing processes must be completed online with only a few exceptions

Producer - full lines: life, disability (health), property, casualty or personal lines

    Tip: Be sure to have your bond information (PDF, 18KB) ready.  You may attach it electronically or mail it in.

Surplus line broker

Surplus line policy data must be submitted to the Surplus Line Association of Washington on a monthly basis.

  1. Hold a property and casualty producer license
    Tip: If you don't already have a property and casualty producer license, you may apply for it at the same time you apply for a surplus line broker license.

  1. Meet the one year Life line of authority producer license requirement

Title agent

A resident title agent must maintain an established place of business in this state. It must own or lease and maintain a title plant for each and every county in Washington in which it will be issuing policies.

Individual licenses for the employees of a licensed title agent are not required. See RCW 48.29.170.
