Company admissions

Washington State welcomes insurance companies to apply for admission to our state.  We offer a business-friendly climate with a No. 2 ranking among states in a recent Forbes magazine survey of “The Best States for Business.”

Our regulatory environment is fair and reasonable and we use the Uniform Certificate of Authority Application (UCAA) to review and process your applications quickly.

We encourage applications to be submitted electronically and we do not require hard copies in addition to the electronic application.

• Domestic insurers seeking admission to Washington may file a UCAA Primary application.
• Foreign insurers seeking to do business in Washington may file a UCAA Expansion application.
• Existing insurers requesting amendments to their Certificate of Authority may file a UCAA Corporate Amendments application.
