Health insurance for tribal members

Indian Health Service

Indian Health Service is a federal program for federally recognized:

  • American Indians
  • Alaska natives

It also may provide health services to:

  • Indians of Canadian or Mexican origin
  • Non-Indian women pregnant with an eligible American Indian child

Tribal clinics

  • Tribal clinics offer health care to tribal members and their families.
  • In some smaller rural communities, tribal clinics may serve non-native people in the community.
