Individual plan rates
Premiums for health plans can vary widely between companies. If your employer doesn't provide health insurance and you can't find it through an association or public plan, you may have to buy your own plan.
Finding the best deal requires some shopping savvy. Above all, make sure you're comparing similar benefits when looking at plans, so you have an apples-to-apples comparison.

Important note about high-deductible/catastrophic health plans
Most high-deductible/catastrophic health plans are not portable. If you select another plan in the future, you may have to wait up to nine months for coverage of a pre-existing condition.

- $1,970 or more for an individual; or
- $3,940 or more for two or more people.
Health insurance through an employer
If you get insurance through your employer, your employer will provide you with information about the plans, how much they cost, and how to contact them.
