Veterans and retirees of the U.S. military may be entitled to health benefits through the U.S. Department of Veterans, the Washington state Department of Veterans Affairs or through the TRICARE program.
These health plans and programs are available to help veterans:
TRICARE - Provides health insurance for qualified active duty and retired service members and their family members, including National Guard and Reserve members.
TRICARE for Life - This is a program for Medicare-eligible military retirees and their dependents, who have Medicare Parts A and B, that acts as a supplement to Medicare.
U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs - If you’re a veteran, you may qualify for care and prescription drug coverage through a Department of Veterans Affairs medical facility.
Washington state Dept. of Veteran Affairs counseling and wellness - Offers a one-of-a-kind, state-funded outreach/counseling program designed to provide confidential counseling services to Washington state veterans and family members.
Washington state's Veterans Benefit Enhancement Program (VBEP) - The Washington State Health Care Authority, in partnership with the Washington State Dept. of Veterans Affairs, helps eligible veterans and their families get assistance through Veterans Affairs health care.
