Open enrollment starts Nov. 1 and ends Jan. 15 each year. You can purchase a plan for yourself or your family inside the Exchange at Washington Healthplanfinder or outside directly from an insurance company.
Key dates to get 2025 coverage:
- Nov. 1: Open Enrollment starts — the first day, you can enroll in, renew, or change plans.
- Dec. 15: The last day to enroll in or change plans for coverage to start on Jan. 1.
- Jan. 1: Coverage starts for those who enroll in or change plans by Dec. 15.
- Jan. 15: Open Enrollment ends — last day to enroll in or change plans for the year with coverage starting Feb. 1.
- Feb. 1: Coverage begins for those who enrolled or changed plans between Dec. 16 and Jan. 15.
