Travel is not covered by holding life, disability (health), property or casualty lines of authority on your license.

Already licensed for travel
You don’t need to make any changes to your license.
How to obtain a new travel only license
There are no pre-licensing education (PLE) or exam requirements for a travel-only resident license. First-time resident applicants must complete an online application, pay the $25 limited-line application fee, and submit electronic fingerprints for a background check.
How to add travel to an individual license

- Log in to your account via our website.
- Select the menu option to "Add Other Line(s)."
- Complete your application to add a line of authority. There is no fee.
How to add travel to a business entity license
Note: Your designated responsible licensed person (DRLP) must be licensed for travel first. If you are adding the travel line of authority to your business entity license, make sure your DRLP has already added travel to their individual license.
- Log into your account via our website.
- Select the menu option to "Add Other Line(s)."
- Complete your application to add a line of authority. There is no fee.
Exceptions
There is one exception to these requirements. If a licensed business entity (agency) wants to transact travel insurance business, it must:
- Have a producer license with the travel line of authority.
- Have a designated responsible licensed person (DRLP) for the agency who has a producer license with the travel line of authority.
Additional employees of the agency may transact travel business without a license, or without the travel line of authority on their license, as long as the agency and its DRLP are actively licensed with the travel line of authority.
The DRLP is responsible for assuring regulatory compliance by the agency and all its employees.
