If your license is within 90 days before or 60 days after its expiration date, you'll need to renew it before you can add additional lines of authority.
How to add additional full lines to your producer license
Full lines of authority include life, disability, property or casualty. There is no fee for adding additional lines to your license.
To change your personal lines license to a property and casualty license, you'll need to do an upgrade. You won't be charged an upgrade fee. Resident licensees need to have a passing property and casualty exam. Non-resident licensees need to have a property and casualty license in their home state.

- All Washington resident licensees will need to attach their exam score sheets to their applications. There is no exam requirement for non-residents.
- All resident business-entity licensees need to know the lines of authority for their designated responsible licensed person (DRLP). The DRLP needs at least one matching line of authority with the business entity.
- All Washington non-resident licensees need to have the line of authority they want to add on their home state license. We will verify this via the National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR) for all non-resident individual and business-entity producer licenses.
