Outreach

SHIBA provides pre-approved public presentations, outreach tools and materials, online forms to submit requests for our online event calendar and advertising, and other resources to help SHIBA volunteers and volunteer coordinators meet their SHIBA outreach goals.

Publications

SHIBA volunteers, volunteer coordinators and staff who need printed materials can look through and order publications directly from SHIBA’s fulfillment center, Medicare, Medicaid and other government agencies.

Travel reimbursement and pre-approval

Following is the Office of the Insurance Commissioner' (OIC) process to reimburse volunteer travel. Local sponsors who pay for travel may follow other steps.

STARS - SHIBA's online client tracking database

The SHIP Tracking and Reporting System (STARS) helps monitor client interactions and maintains records of outreach and advertising activities. You can access forms and timesheets through this system.

Volunteer training

Counseling clients

SHIBA volunteers can find tools here to help with counseling and communicating with Medicare clients who might need additional help with a Medicare issue, language interpretation or hearing impairment.
