Rulemaking revised Chapter 284-43B WAC to include ground ambulance services and to update Balance Billing Protection Act rules on arbitration fees and arbitration process revisions.

SSB 5986 (PDF, 171 KB) added ground ambulance balance billing protections to the Balance Billing Protection Act (BBPA). Rulemaking was necessary to revise Chapter 284-43B WAC to include ground ambulance services. The rulemaking also updated the BBPA rules, including but not limited to arbitration fee and process revisions for arbitrations authorized under RCW 48.49.135. This process ensures that affected entities understand their rights and obligations under the new law.
